Cornyn Discusses Harvey Aid Delay For Texas, Battle To Keep State Red [INTERVIEW]
On Thursday U.S. Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) joined The Chad Hasty Show to discuss several issues on the front burner for the state of Texas, as well as for the United States.
Cornyn and Hasty talked about border and national security concerns, the recent partial government shutdown, pharmaceutical prices and more.
Cornyn, while answering Hasty's questioning about GOP concerns that the party is rapidly losing it's traditional conservative voting base in Texas, and whether or not Cornyn is worried about the same, said,
I'm very concerned. We saw, last time I ran, for example in 2014, we had 4.7 million people vote. In the 2018 election it was 8.3 million. It was a huge turnout. And of course we've had a lot of changes in our state. A lot of people moving here from other states. And to be honest, I think Republicans have gotten a little bit complacent, and we need to up our game...to keep Texas red.
