On Wednesday's edition of Lubbock's First News, Congressman Randy Neugebauer spoke with Chad and Rex about his reactions to last night's State of the Union address.

Overall, Neugebauer felt that last night was more of a political speech than a State of the Union address. He felt that Obama delivered sound bites as opposed to solutions, and that the whole speech was about making government bigger, and increasing taxes to do so.

"If you go back and read that speech, it was about more government, more government, and it's the same programs and ideas the president's had that haven't work."

Neugebauer then discussed several points of the address, such as outsourcing jobs, teachers, and the idea of "fair share." Neugebauer said that Obama may be trying to divert attention from what he's done during his time as president, to what he's going to do. However he hopes that, come election time in November, people will be looking more at Obama's record as president than his speeches.
