Earlier today, a Texas Congressman found himself in the middle of the federal government shutdown in an unexpected way. NBC 4 in Washington, D.C. late Wednesday had the story of Congressman Randy Neugebauer (R- Lubbock) confronting park service officials at the closed World War II Memorial.

Congressman Neugebauer voiced his displeasure to the ranger as tourists were being kept out of the World War II Memorial.  You can view video of Congressman Neugebauer by clicking this link.

Tuesday, a group of World War II veterans made news by moving barricades at the World War II Memorial so they could tour the site without the aid of park rangers.

Meanwhile, the federal government shutdown continues as the debate over Obamacare drags on.
