A Lubbock man will likely face drug charges after reportedly being found with drugs during an arrest.

Deputy U.S. Marshals arrested 25-year-old Joe Luis Carlos Archuleta for violating the terms of his supervised release warrant. Archuleta was convicted on conspiracy to possess and deal counterfeit U.S. Currency in 2007.

The marshals entered the house in the 5400 block of 68th Street to arrest Archuleta around 7 p.m. Monday. A search warrant carried out by Drug Enforcement Administration agents turned up one ounce of cocaine and one pound of pure methamphetamine.

On Wednesday, U.S. Magistrate Judge Nancy Koenig ordered that Archuleta remain in federal custody, and the Government has informed the Court that it may file additional charges relating to the discovery of the drugs.

No drug charges against Archuleta have been filed as of yet. He could face between 40 years and life in prison if found guilty on possessing the pound of methamphetamine.
