
A White Christmas in Texas? Here’s Where It Could Snow in Texas On Christmas Day
Christmas is approaching quickly and the weather has been a little frosty lately. Even some areas of the South Plains have received a little snow and ice. Of course most of us haven't and the chances of waking up to a white Christmas? Well, it's not great.
When it comes to snow and Christmas, unless you are on vacation somewhere where you expected snow or you are a kid, you probably aren't rooting for snow on Christmas day. Especially if you have to drive anywhere. But a White Christmas is something a lot people at least think they want. So what are the chances of snow on Christmas day? Well, not very good.
The Last White Christmas We Saw in Texas
The last time any portions of Texas had a White Christmas was in 2012. Portions of the Panhandle, along with North Central Texas did get measurable snow and it made travel a headache for those in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

In Lubbock, the last White Christmas was back in 2011 an inch of snow fell on the ground. On Christmas Eve Lubbock got about 2 inches of snow. It wasn't a lot, but not too bad.
The further south you go in Texas, the less likely it is that you will see snow.
But what about this year?

The chances of a White Christmas anywhere in Texas is pretty low, but the good news (if you want to see snow on Christmas Day) it's extremely early in the month and the forecasts could always change.
