On Wednesday's edition of Lubbock First News, Melissa Pierce from CASA talked with Chad Hasty and Rex Andrew about upcoming training sessions for CASA volunteers.

CASA of Lubbock provides and trains volunteers to work with abused and neglected children in the foster system. While CASA mainly has volunteers in the Lubbock area, Pierce said they are looking for volunteers in the surrounding communities. CASA needs at least 22 volunteers to help children through foster care and the court process.

There will be two training session for CASA volunteers. One will be in Lubbock on July 10th, and the second will be in Plainview on July 12th. Those wanting to volunteer with CASA must be at least 21 years old, and must pass a background check to ensure they can work with children.
