Monday morning a fire broke out at The Boulders at Lakeridge apartment complex in the 4400 block of 82nd Street (behind Abuelo's) just before 5:30 a.m.

According to the Lubbock Fire Department, it was a two-alarm fire. Four apartment units were damaged by the fire and 10 people were displaced.

The fire was contained in about an hour and there are no reports of any injuries. Portions of Quaker Avenue, south of 82nd Street were closed to traffic during the Monday morning commute. The Lubbock chapter of the American Red Cross is providing assistance to eight of the ten residents displaced by the fire.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
