A brigadier general will speak at the Texas Tech School of Law.

Brigadier General Tom Draude, who serves as the president and chief executive officer of the Marine Corps University Foundation, will speak at Texas Tech’s law school this Thursday evening.

Draude, who served three tours in Vietnam during his more than 30-year career in the U.S. Marine Corps, will speak at Tech as part of the Vietnam Center and Archive’s distinguished speaker series.

The event will take place at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 1st in the Lanier Auditorium, located at 18th Street and Indiana Avenue. Admission is free, and open to the public.

Draude received 10 personal awards for combat, including two Silver Stars and a Purple Heart, in addition to two Distinguished Service Medals. He also served as the Assistant Division Commander of the 1st Marine Division during Desert Shield and Desert Storm.
