Body of Missing Boy Found in 30-Foot Well

At Carlsbad, New Mexico, recovery efforts were underway last night to retrieve the body of a 4-year-old boy from the bottom of a 30 foot well.

Samuel Jones had been the object of an Amber Alert until police located his body in the backyard a Carlsbad residence next to his family's home.

A large tracked excavator was on the scene, along with metal shoring typically used in pipeline construction projects. Officials say the recovery effort could be a time-consuming affair.

There is no evidence of foul play or child abuse, but police are ruling the case to be a homicide as a precaution.
