An athlete and head coach from the track and field team of Texas Tech University have been honored.

Texas Tech had it’s second Big 12 Conference title win in the program’s history last Sunday. Tech’s athletes' scores combined for a total of 160.5 points, marking the most in school history and the most in league history by a current Big 12 school.

Thursday morning, May 22nd, head coach Wes Kittley and athlete Kennedy Kithuka were both honored by the Big 12 Conference.

Kittley was named Big 12 Coach of the Year and Kithuka was honored as the first Big 12 Men’s Performer of the Year in Tech history

Kithuka now has a total of six Big 12 Championships in cross country and track and field.
