Beto O’Rourke to Campaign in Lubbock on Sunday

Democrat Beto O'Rourke is making another trip to Lubbock this weekend as he campaigns for governor of Texas.
The former Congressman who ran for U.S. Senate in 2018 against Ted Cruz and then for President in 2020 will be making his second trip to Lubbock as a candidate for governor. O'Rourke was in Lubbock in December campaigning prior to the Democratic and Republican primaries.
O'Rourke will hold his event at The Garden, located at 1801 Buddy Holly Avenue on Sunday, March 20th from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Anyone can attend for free, but as campaigns normally do they ask that you RSVP to the event, which you can do here.
O'Rourke is facing Texas Governor Greg Abbott, and while the two candidates faced primary challengers, both Abbott and O'Rourke mainly focused on campaigning against each other.
O'Rourke has been hitting Abbott over the power grid and lately on the status of the foster care system in Texas. O'Rourke has also attacked Abbott's stance on Constitutional Carry. Meanwhile, Abbott has hit O'Rourke over his stance on guns.
In 2018, O'Rourke told The Chad Hasty Show that he didn't believe in taking away people's gun, including AR-15s. Then, while running for president, O'Rourke famously said "hell yes" when asked if he would take away people's AR-15s and AK-47s. In February I wrote about a campaign stop where O'Rourke said he was no longer interested in taking anything away from anyone.
Abbott has also hit O'Rourke on energy policy, taxes and, of course, the need to secure the southern border.
I expect both campaigns to visit Lubbock again in the future.
