An Amarillo man has been indicted by a federal grand jury for reportedly robbing a credit union.

James Aaron Sims has been charged by a grand jury with one count of bank robbery.

The indictment alleges that the 23-year-old Sims robbed the Texas Plains Federal Credit Union in Amarillo on February 3rd, 2014.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Sims has been in custody since his arrest, which occurred just a few days after the robbery.

Sims faces up to 20 years in federal prison and a $250,000 fine if convicted.
