Amarillo Resident James Aaron Sims Indicted For Bank Robbery

An Amarillo man has been indicted by a federal grand jury for reportedly robbing a credit union.

James Aaron Sims has been charged by a grand jury with one count of bank robbery.

The indictment alleges that the 23-year-old Sims robbed the Texas Plains Federal Credit Union in Amarillo on February 3^rd, 2014.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Sims has been in custody since his arrest, which occurred just a few days after the robbery.

Sims faces up to 20 years in federal prison and a $250,000 fine if convicted.
