Congressman Mac Thornberry of Amarillo has announced via a press release that he will not be seeking reelection in 2020.

Thornberry has retained his seat for more than 25 years. He was first elected to represent the 13th district in 1994 and has served on a number of committees, including the Armed Services Committee, the Select Committee on Homeland Security, and more recently the Task Force on Cybersecurity.

According to the Texas Tribune, Congressman Thornberry joins a growing list of Texas Republicans not seeking re-election in 2020.
