On Christmas Day, Clovis Police were dispatched in reference to shots fired and a victim with a gunshot wound.

Police arrived at a home in the 100 block of Lydia Street at around 5:20 a.m. when they encountered 46-year-old James Andre Williams, who had been shot in the head. Williams was sitting in the front seat of an older model Buick car parked on the property where the shooting had occurred.

Williams was transported to Plains Regional Medical Center and was later transported to a Lubbock hospital due to the severity of his injuries.

Through an investigation, it was discovered that the residence was shot multiple times, and shortly after the initial shooting, a vehicle was seen passing by and a single gunshot was heard.
