A teacher from Hale Center who was arrested back in 2022 has been indicted. Back on December 20, 2022 the Hale County Sheriff's Office was able to receive a warrant after Hale Center ISD school officials received information regarding some serious allegations. Those allegations involved an improper relationship between a student and educator.

KAMC news reported that Hale Center ISD High School teacher, 46-year-old Amy Gilly, was arrested the same day the warrant was issued back in December. On Wednesday, January 11, Gilly was indicted by a federal court and charged with Enticement and Attempted Enticement of a minor. Gilly has remained in the Hale County Jail since her initial arrested on bonds totaling $20,000.

In the state of Texas Enticement of a Minor can be prosecuted on the state and federal level and can range anywhere from a misdemeanor to a felony. If the victim was under the age of 18 in this case Gilly could face 10 years to life in prison if convicted.
