17th Hub City Beach Party Helps Foster Children Across the South Plains
The 17th annual Hub City Beach Party is coming back to Lubbock this weekend. The event is hosted by the nonprofit organization Foster A Life which dedicates itself to helping foster kids with the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services across the South Plains.
The 17th annual Hub City Beach Party will be taking place Saturday, August 6th, at the Depot Patio near Avenue E. Tickets are going for $20 in advance or $25 the day of the show and there will also be a raffle with two grand prizes for $1250 United Supermarkets gift cards. The gates will open at 6pm with the Landsharks Band returning to headline the event at 7pm. The event is said to include Lubbock's only beach complete with sand, beach umbrellas, and even sharks along with a silent auction.
This year there will be a new event a day prior to the Hub City Beach Party called Hub City Happy Hour that will be held Friday, August 5th. This new event will be at Stella's restaurant starting at 5:30pm and will feature Gary Roland, from the Landsharks, playing acoustical music with other members of the band.
Foster A Life was founded back in 2004 to help provide assistance, services, and opportunities to children who are in the foster program. Currently, Foster A Life lends their services to children in Lubbock County and 17 surrounding counties by supporting the well-being of those children to promote positive care. All proceeds from this event will go to Foster A Life to help children in the foster system.
