Xcel Energy’s Southwestern Public Service Company is seeking new solar energy resources and is asking the public for help.

As part of their resource planning process, the company is seeking proposals for new resources capable of generating up to 200 megawatts of solar photovoltaic power that could begin delivering energy on or before December 2016.

According to the company, the power would be contracted through a power purchase agreement.

Southwestern Public Service is a wholly owned subsidary of Xcel and services 383,000 customers.

The complete bid package is available at Xcel’s website. Bids will be accepted until 5 p.m. on Friday, October 10.
