Woodrow Road Project To Begin Soon in Lubbock
Major improvements are in the works for Woodrow Road and for many families, the construction can't start soon enough.
The Texas Department of Transportation announced this week that construction on Woodrow Road from US 87 to Indiana Ave. will begin on October 30, 2023. The $38 million dollar project will completely rebuild Woodrow Road and remake it from a two lane road to a major 5 lane road.
The project is extensive and will take time according to KAMC.
The project will rebuild 2.7 miles of Woodrow Road to include two lanes of traffic in each direction, a continuous left turn lane, as well as drainage and traffic signal improvements.
TxDOT said when traveling on Woodrow Road to expect traffic to continue to be one lane in each direction, side street closures, slow moving traffic and delays.
Work will begin at Avenue P. Once completed, the new 5 lane road should provide for better traffic flow and a safer road for residents and students.
