Lubbock is losing another local business. And now there is one less option for wings.

The Wing Shack and Tap House restaurant, known for its wings and free beer, has closed its doors for good. Wing Shack located at 5412 Slide Road opened in August of 2023 and quickly gained the reputation for having great wings with many different spice and flavor options.

It was also known for the Hotter Than Hell Wing Challenge that only a very few were able to win.

Sunday was the final full day for the Wing Shack. Owners of the Wing Shack posted on Facebook that it was a difficult decision to shut down the concept. They also thanked fans who supported the Wing Shack over the past 2 years.

Lubbock has already seen a number of restaurants close in 2025. Just yesterday we reported that On The Border closed over the weekend. Other places that have closed recently include Pei Wei, Sprinkles, and Costa Vida.

The restaurant business is a tough business to be in and the economy still hasn't stabilized from the last few years of inflation and the cost of goods continuing to increase. And Lubbock is also known as a dining out community which drives a lot of competition.

We wish the Wing Shack owners and employees best of luck in their next endeavors.
