A wildfire broke out just after 5 o'clock this evening in West Lubbock.  According to the Texas State Operations Center, 20 acres were burned in an area east of Milwaukee Avenue, near Spur 327 and the Marsha Sharp Freeway.

While the fire was being battled, smoke caused the closure of parts of the Marsha Sharp Freeway and Spur 327 due to low visibility.

Officials have not ruled on a cause for the wildfire.
