Unseasonably Warm Weather Sticking Around for Lubbock But a Change is Coming
If you went outside on Friday you might have been surprised at just how warm it was outside. Fall like temperatures have all but disappeared for now, but don't worry, a chance of rain and cooler temperatures will arrive before Thanksgiving.
A Warm West Texas
There is a good chance Lubbock will set record high temperatures on both Friday and Saturday of this weekend. High temperatures on Saturday are expected to be around 90 according to the National Weather Service. Much of Texas will see above average heat over the next two days which probably doesn't help put anyone in a "Fall" mood. Temperatures for the Texas Tech Football game on Saturday will be very warm when they kickoff at 2:30pm.
Cooler Temperatures Coming Our Way
The good news is that a cool down is expected. The heat is supposed to backoff starting Sunday with highs only in the 80's in and around Lubbock. Later next week, there is a chance of rain and high temperatures going into the weekend could be in the low 70's or upper 60's.

Thanksgiving is still too far away to say for certain, but as of today it looks like Thanksgiving will be a nice, mild November day.
