Vizo’s African Bar and Restaurant Will Reopen in New Lubbock Location
Lubbock favorite Vizo's African Bar and Restaurant is reopening soon in a brand new location.
It's been a long road for Vizo's African Bar and Restaurant, which closed back in November of 2021. While they've been closed for a while, their loyal fanbase is excited to have them open again.
Vizo's, which serves up African cuisine, cocktails and great customer service, will reopen on Monday, August 15th. When Vizo's reopens, they'll be in a new location that many in Lubbock are already quite familiar with. The new Vizo's will be located at 3131 34th Street. That address is where the former Crafthouse Gastropub was located.
If you're unfamiliar with Vizo's, the restaurant is owned by two Texas Tech University alumni who wanted to share the food and culture of Africa with all in Lubbock. They opened in 2019 and had great success, earning recognition the following year as a top 100 place to eat in the United States in Forbes magazine:
Lubbock's Vizo's African Bar and Restaurant (4930 South Loop 289) is the only restaurant in West Texas to make Forbes' impressive list of the 'Top Places to Eat in the United States, according to Yelp.
The Forbes list, released in January, offers truly unique and diverse eateries, only a handful of which are even in the state of Texas. Vizo's, in 99th place, told us they're very happy to have made the list. They shared that business had indeed increased since the list came out.
Congratulations to Vizo's on their reopening.
