Updated Speed Limits Take Effect Thursday

New legislation regulating speed limits in the State of Texas will take effect this Thursday. The reduced night-time speed limit of 65 mph will be lifted beginning September 1^st.

Speed limits will also be raised to 75 mph on roads deemed safe enough for this speed. Road evaluation for the raised speed limits will begin September 1^st.

Keep in mind, speed limit increases are not considered in effect until signs are updated. Nighttime and truck restrictions should be completely lifted by the end of the year.
