United Supermarkets will present a sizable gift to an area school’s playground project.

On Monday, United Supermarkets will donate $50,000 to Lubbock Christian School, to help fund the completion of their playground, which is scheduled to be finished within the next month.

Co-President of United Supermarkets Matt Bumstead will present the gift to Lubbock Christian School Superintendent Peter Dahlstrom during a special ceremony.

Plans for the school’s playground, located in the 2600 block of Dover Avenue include a concrete walk around the playground area, and bridge over a nearby drain way, and concrete play surfaces with four basketball goals and markings.

Other items being added to the playground are strength training areas with a wood chip fall surface, benches, landscaping, and a surrounding fence.
