Wednesday morning, the United Family of supermarkets announced an expansion of their pharmacy services. "Pet Meds" will be available at 57 different pharmacy locations throughout West Texas, New Mexico and North Texas.

The new program will allows United customers to fill prescriptions for their four-legged friends in-store and online.

“Our guests rely on our pharmacies to fill their prescription needs, and we are thrilled to now be a one-stop-shop for guests’ pets as well,” said Tim Purser, director of pharmacy for The United Family.

A United spokesman states the pharmacies will offer competitive prices on common pet prescriptions, including Advantage, Heartgard, Revolution and more. United customers will be able to pick up their pet medications in store with their own prescriptions, or have them shipped to their home with standard shipping of three to five days. All that is needed is a veterinarian prescription.

Pet Meds is now available at each store brand of The United Family, including United Supermarkets, Market Street, Amigos and Albertsons Market. For a full list of medications offered or more information about Pet Meds, visit www.unitedsupermarkets.com/petmeds.
