Texas Tech University's Master of Science in Library and Information Science Degree has been approved by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges.

According to an article on Texas Tech Today, the 36-hour, non-thesis program may be online and/or face-to-face and will include a 3-hour practicum consisting of 120 field hours.

The University Libraries will begin hiring faculty for the new program soon, which is set to begin in August.
