Traffic signals at 19th Street and West Loop 289 will be fully activated Thursday.

Lane closures will still be in place throughout the work zone, but motorists will now encounter fully operational traffic signals at the intersection.

The construction has been underway since April 2010, which has widened the West Loop from four to six lanes. The improvements also include removing the 19th Street clover-leaf interchange, and replacing it with bridges and frontage roads.

As always, the work will take place as the weather permits.
