Three People Charged with Aggravated Robbery and Organized Crime
Five people were arrested by Lubbock police on Friday for robbing a local nail salon. Now three of them are facing charges.
The alleged robbery occurred Friday afternoon at around 12:20 p.m. at Dove Nails, located at 7006 University Avenue, just off the access road of South Loop 289. 33-year-old Carlos Carrasco is accused of entering the salon, holding several people at gun-point, and demanding money from a cash register.
While the robbery was taking place, 27-year-old Krista Allensworth, the alleged get-away driver, is said to have been waiting in a vehicle outside with a 32-year-old man named James Booth. Allensworth fled the scene with Carrasco, but reports indicate that Booth fled the scene of the robbery on foot and was apprehended by police a short time later.
Employees of Dove Nails provided a description of the get-away vehicle to officers once they arrived at the scene. That vehicle was located by police at a house in the 2100 block of 87th Street. When police searched the home, both Allensworth and Carrasco were arrested, along with 47-year-old Travis Jackson and Christa Soto, who are being charged with drug possession, not robbery.
Carrasco, Allensworth, and Booth, however, all face charges of aggravated robbery and organized crime.
