It's getting closer and closer to back to school time and that means more back to school fundraisers for Lubbock area kids and schools. Earlier in the week, we told you about the City of Lubbock Health Department hosting a back to school hygiene drive.

Now, it's The United Family that will be hosting their annual School Supply Drive now through August 6th.

Supplies that are raised will go to local students in the Lubbock area that are in need.

The United Family is inviting customers and guests to donate at the register instead of purchasing school supplies for donation barrels. That way you can donate any amount you want when at the register. The United Family also kicked off their fundraiser by giving school district representatives a gift card with $150 on it so they could do some shopping for the fundraiser.

According to a press release the fundraiser will benefit Lubbock ISD, Lubbock-Cooper ISD, Frenship ISD, Roosevelt ISD, Slaton ISD, and Shallowater ISD.

“We are so proud to once again partner with our surrounding school districts to help raise money for school supplies,” said Joe Womble, RVP for The United Family. “While new school supplies can contribute to the excitement of a new school year, they can also be a point of financial stress for many families. The money we raise will help ensure each child is offered equal opportunity for success in the classroom this school year.”

Customers and guests can donate at any United Supermarkets, Market Street, and Amigos locations.
