A Paleta bar, or ice pop store, is coming to the South Plains Mall very soon and I was their first customer on their soft opening on December 2nd. They have now had their soft opening and their grand opening will be on December 11th with a lot of fun things happening like a mariachi band.

According to their official website, The Paleta Bar has locations across multiple states here in the United States, but Lubbock will be their newest stop. The closest one to us right now is in Midland, and that's the only Texas location I'm seeing on their list of locations.

Now, I do warn you if you go look at the site for yourself, it will make you hungry and crave them. It says you choose your paleta flavor and then pick your dipping sauce. The chocolate one is calling my name. Then, you can add toppings as well as fresh fruits if you like, so the paleta is totally customizable to whatever you like.

If you don't want a paleta, the ice cream shop does offer other treats, such as Aguas Frescas, fruit cups and elotes. For all you families out there, the menu does show they do family packs as well.

Here's a little tease of what's to come:

I had so much fun there. You get to pick from so many different flavors and they are honestly all delicious. They gave us lots of samples. I got the coffee one dipped in milk chocolate topped with strawberries. I mean come on that just sounds amazing right? They even have fresh made drinks that you need to try as well. So take a break while you are shopping and check them out. The owners are so sweet and I think you will like the desserts as well.

Just a reminder: if you know of any new places opening up in or around Lubbock, closing their doors or something else that we should cover, please reach out to me at kelsee.pitman@townsquaremedia.com.
