ROUND ROCK, Texas (AP) — A 44-year-old man identified as a person of interest in the death of a woman and the abduction of her two daughters in Texas is in custody in southern Colorado.

Nick Olivier, a spokesman for the Round Rock Police Department in Texas, said Wednesday night that Terry Allen Miles was taken into custody without incident, and the 14- and 7-year-old girls were found safe.

Miles was being sought for questioning in the death of 44-year-old Tonya Bates and the abduction of her daughters from the north Austin suburb. Bates' body was found Sunday at the home she and Miles shared. It's not clear how long she was dead.

Olivier did not have any other information Wednesday night.
