Texas Tech soccer has swept conference player of the week honors.

Red Raider sophomore forward Janine Beckie and senior goalkeeper Victoria Esson have received the Big 12 Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week awards.

The duo helped guide the Red Raiders to two victories last weekend over Kansas and West Virginia. It marks the second time this season that the pair has swept the two honors.

Esson, a Christchurch, New Zealand native, now has a school record 26 shutouts in her career as the anchor of Tech’s defense, which ranks No. 1 nationally in both goals-against average and shutout percentage.

Tech will host Texas Friday at 7 p.m. in the regular season finale at the John Walker Soccer Complex. All fans are encouraged to wear red in what has been dubbed the “Code Red Game.”

The first 350 fans at the complex will receive a free red Texas Tech Athletics shirt.

Tech soccer jumped six spots to No. 12 in the NSCAA Coaches Poll on Tuesday, which is their highest ranking as of yet.
