Texas Tech women’s soccer moves on to the Big 12 semifinals.

A two-goal outburst by Tech in the second half of Wednesday’s match between the Red Raiders and Kansas led to a 2-0 shutout in the opening round of the Big 12 Soccer Championships at Blossom Stadium in San Antonio.

This is the program’s first victory in the postseason conference tournament.

The Red Raiders will face Baylor on Friday at 8 p.m. for their chance at the conference championship. The team is currently on a six-match winning streak.

Baylor advanced to the semifinals after defeating Oklahoma State 3-0 Wednesday night.

“The spirits are high,” said Texas Tech head coach Tom Stone. “We had a great day of practice today, and we just want to make sure we are prepared and ready for Baylor tomorrow night.”

Tech set a school record for wins in a single season this year, with 14 during the regular season.
