An annual musical event will take place this weekend.

The Texas Tech University School of Music’s 36th Annual Scholarship Concert will be held at 8 p.m. Saturday, April 28th.

The program includes Mozart’s Requiem and Rimsky-Korsakov’s Russian Easter Overture.

Texas Tech choirs and orchestra will join with the Lubbock Chorale for the annual scholarship fundraiser, and will feature more than 200 voices, along with the 80-piece Texas Tech Symphony Orchestra.

“Mozart’s Just Desserts” will follow the concert with a sampling of chocolates and chamber music performed by students. Dessert and coffee are provided in part through a donation by United Market Street.

This is the first year that there will be no admission charge, but donations are welcomed.

The concert will be held at Broadway Church of Christ, located at Broadway and Avenue S.
