Texas State Fair Mascot Big Tex Burns Friday Morning
The notable mascot of the Texas State Fair is the victim of a fire Friday morning.
The metal structure of Big Tex, the 52-foot tall cowboy remained, as did some fabric that once served as the structure’s sleeves and hands.
This year’s Texas State Fair also highlighted Big Tex’s 60th birthday, as he first greeted visitors to the fair in 1952.
The fair’s last day for 2012 is Sunday, October 21st. No word yet on the cause of the blaze.
