Texas Sales Tax Revenue Up, Lubbock’s Falls Slightly

State sales tax revenue was up in July, according to Texas Comptroller Susan Combs. Sales tax revenue was up 10.2 percent at $1.86 billion compared to July of 2010.

It marks the 16^th consecutive month of increased sales tax revenue in Texas. Several Texas counties saw higher numbers than in July of 2010, however Lubbock saw a slight drop with numbers down .22%. Amarillo was up 5.34 percent, Midland was up 21.82 percent, and Odessa rose 16.52%.

A total of $606.7 million will be allotted to Texas counties.
