State sales tax revenue was up in July, according to Texas Comptroller Susan Combs. Sales tax revenue was up 10.2 percent at $1.86 billion compared to July of 2010.

It marks the 16th consecutive month of increased sales tax revenue in Texas. Several Texas counties saw higher numbers than in July of 2010, however Lubbock saw a slight drop with numbers down .22%. Amarillo was up 5.34 percent, Midland was up 21.82 percent, and Odessa rose 16.52%.

A total of $606.7 million will be allotted to Texas counties.
