A Texas resident has 3 million reasons to celebrate and to be thankful for the Texas Lottery. Thanks to a $50 dollar scratch off ticket and a lot of luck, a resident of Fort Stockton is the newest millionaire in the Lone Star State.
Fort Stockton Resident Wins Millions
A resident of Fort Stockton won the $3 million prize from the Texas Lottery after purchasing a Colossal Cashword scratch-off ticket. The winner purchased the ticket in Midland. The cost of the ticket? $50.
The winner, like most other people lately who have won good sized jackpots, has chosen to remain anonymous. According to MRT.com, the winning scratch-off was sold at the OXXO in Midland at 3301 W. Illinois Ave. The winner was the third out of four top prizes that will be awarded from the game. Each top prize is $3 million.
Texas Lottery Will Continue, With Some Changes
The Texas Lottery will continue after Texas lawmakers made some changes. One of the biggest changes is that the Texas Lottery Commission will be dissolved. Oversight of the Lottery will be moved to the Department of Licensing and Regulation. People will no longer be allowed to purchase tickets online or through a courier.

The changes will take place if the Governor signs the legislation which he is expected to do.
