Texas Rangers have entered the investigation into the slaying of an elderly Tulia woman whose body was found in her home over the weekend. A relative discovered 84-year-old Imogene Wilmoth Harris at the northwest Tulia home where she lived with her disabled daughter.

An autopsy revealed Harris died of blunt force trauma to the head. She was found Sunday.

DPS spokesman Daniel Hawthorne told the Amarillo Globe-News that Harris’ disabled daughter was home when Harris was killed. The daughter was taken to Covenant Hospital in Plainview where she was examined and released. No arrests had been reported as of late yesterday.
