Texas Parole Officer Accused of Getting Drugs from Offender
DENTON, Texas (AP) — Police say a North Texas parole officer has been accused of getting hydrocodone pills from a convict he was overseeing.
Denton police say 52-year-old Michael Lee Bush was arrested Tuesday on a charge of possession of a controlled substance after allegedly receiving the prescription pain killer from a parolee.
Police say Bush requested an unscheduled meeting with the parolee. A police statement says the exchange allegedly took place in the parking lot of the Denton parole office where Bush works.
Jail records show Bush is free on bond. Police didn't immediately return a message Thursday to provide bond details or attorney information for Bush, who's a Texas Department of Criminal Justice employee.
TDCJ spokesman Jason Clark say Bush's job status was pending Thursday and he's not allowed on agency property.
