A Texas woman is being accused of attempting to drown herself along with her three children earlier this week. She is also accused to giving the children NyQuil before attempting to drown them.

Texas Woman Accused of Attempting To Drown Children

According to a report from KBTX, a woman and her three children were hospitalized after she attempted to drown them and herself. The attempted drowning happened at a pond that is actually located on the family's property in Liberty County, Texas. Liberty County is located northeast of Houston.

The report from KBTX says that the father called 911 and told authorities that his wife had given the kids NyQuil before she attempted to drown them.

Victims Found Near the Pond in Texas

When authorities arrived on the scene in Liberty County, the found the victims along with their father close to the water. The mom was still in the water. The mother along with an 11-year-old were both unconscious according to KBTX. They were taken to a hospital in critical condition. The two other children, a 6-year-old and 15-year-old were conscious and alert.

According to Click2Houston, CPS has taken custody of the children and the father has been arrested on an unrelated charge of animal cruelty. According to ABC13, investigators found an emaciated cat.

The investigation is ongoing.
