A Texas man has been arrested after he fired shots at a group of teenagers who were playing the "Ding, Dong, Ditch" prank that has gone viral on TikTok. The incident dates back to late July but police just recently wrapped up an investigation into the shooting.

North Texas Man Fired Shots at Teenagers Playing Ding, Dong, Ditch

According to USAToday, Damon Wolfe of Frisco, Texas was arrested earlier in August on three counts of aggravated assault. He is accused of firing multiple shots at a vehicle at around 10:50 at night on July 28. The officers who responded to the call were told that they "had shot at someone who tried to kick in his door".

USAToday reported that the investigation revealed that Wolfe ran out and onto the street after hearing a loud banging on his door and "fired multiple rounds at a passing vehicle. That same night, officers reportedly responded to a residence about six miles away about a vehicle being shot at.

Texas Teenagers Admit to Prank

USAToday reported that during interviews with the 3 teenagers, they all admitted to playing "ding, dong, ditch" when they were confronted by a male with firearm. Their vehicle had three bullet holes in it. Police continued their investigation and eventually charged Wolfe with a crime.

Based on the information gathered during the initial investigation, Frisco detectives "believed probable cause existed that Wolfe had committed aggravated assault against the three victims and sought three warrants for his arrest (one for each occupant)," the news release said, adding a judge signed the warrants and Wolfe was subsequently taken into custody on August 7.
