Devils River Distillery in San Antonio Files for Bankruptcy

The report states that on May 1, Devils River filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection under subchapter V. That would allow Devils River to reorganize and avoid either closing down or liquidation.

Times have been tough for many distilleries in the past few years, with the amount of whiskey being purchased lowering since 2024.

report from the Distilled Spirits Council of the U.S. analyzing 2024 trends found that spirit supplier sales fell 1.1% in 2024, or $37.2 billion. It's possible this might have impacted Devils River's sales.

Devil's River will remain in business as they go through bankruptcy.

Visitors can still visit the distillery in San Antonio which is located at 401 E. Houston Street at different times throughout the week.
