The Texas Comptroller’s Office has released the state sales tax revenue for the month of July.

Revenue totaled over $2.7 billion, nearly 7 percent more than July of last year. Sales tax revenue from almost all major economic sectors were up compared with last year. Total sales tax revenue for the three months ending in July 2018 was up 10.2 percent compared to the same period a year ago.

Sales tax revenue accounts for over half of all tax collections and is the largest source of state funding.
