The Council heard many pros and cons about LEDA, considered Lubbock Power and Light's budget, and, in fairly close votes, approved the upcoming budget and tax rate.

Lubbock ranked 42nd in the nation out of all 365 metropolitan statistical areas across 23 economic and work force indicators by Area Development Magazine.

The expansion projects include Supply Chain Management, Inc., Research and Testing Laboratory, PathoGenius Laboratory, Raw Oil & Gas, Inc. and Covenant Health System. New projects include Michelin Tires and Quality Buildings.

Some citizens, including two men that owned different printing businesses, spoke out against the Lubbock Economic Development Alliance for awarding $64,500 in incentives to Copy Craft Printers.

The fair will be held by Workforce Solutions and the Lubbock Economic Development Alliance on Thursday, June 28th.
