Suspect in Double Homicide of Mother and Son Indicted by Grand Jury on Unrelated Weapons Charge

One of the primary suspects in the murder of a mother and son has been indicted on another charge.

37-year-old Casey Shawn Ledbetter was charged with Felon in Possession of a Firearm by a Grand Jury in Lubbock Tuesday.

He and his wife, 28-year-old Meredith Jonell Ledbetter, are being held in the Lubbock County Jail, both on $100,000 bond. Meredith Ledbetter has been charged with forgery.

The Ledbetter couple are the main suspects in the deaths of 49-year-old Joanie Deeanne Parker and 26-year-old Derek Ryan Hale, whose bodies were found late last month in a field near Idalou.

Neither of the Ledbetters have been charged in the double homicide as of yet.
