State of the City Address Going Virtual This Year
Another event in Lubbock is going virtual this year due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The 39th Annual State of the City Address which is hosted by the Lubbock Apartment Association will be on Tuesday, March 2, at 11:45 a.m. Since the pandemic is still on-going, Lubbock Mayor Dan Pope's speech and the entire event will be held on the Lubbock Apartment Association's website.
In a press release, Lubbock Mayor Dan Pope said Lubbock has a bright future and that the city has been resilient during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“I look forward to presenting the State of the City Address on March 2nd for this special virtual event hosted by the Lubbock Apartment Association,” said Lubbock Mayor Dan Pope. “Each year the State of the City Address is an opportunity for residents to gather, to hear an assessment of the previous year’s efforts, and to learn about Lubbock’s goals for the future. Lubbock has a bright future. The resiliency we have shown during the pandemic places us in a position for success. The Lubbock Apartment Association has put on this event for 39 years to provide Lubbock Mayors a chance to discuss the progress made by the City of Lubbock and to announce goals for the year. The Lubbock Apartment Association will donate a portion of the proceeds to a local charity that is chosen by the Mayor.
