Why Snacks Can Make or Break Your Football Game Experience
Now, I don't know about you, but I am a huge sportsball fan. When that one player does the thing and scores a point for that team, soo wee! Nothing gets my blood runnin' quite like it.
Here in Lubbock, Texas, we pride ourselves on our ability to watch others perform magnificent feats. One such event is college football.
When you watch a football game, you've GOT to have the proper snacks to back up the experience. In fact, a report from Convenience Store News laid out the brass tax on the snacking behaviors of sports fans.
An astonishing 81% of Americans indicated that watching professional football games on the couch is better than attending the game in person. Reports also show an increase in preferring to stay at home with a variety of favorite snacks rather than attending large social gatherings with friends.
Csnews.com also provides a rundown on popular snacking behaviors:
- 27% of those polled preferred chips with salsa, while 21% said French onion and 20% stated queso is the way to go.
- 80% of Americans believe 'the more the merrier' when it comes to combining multiple snacks into one complete bite (I approve).
- During the Superbowl this year, game-watchers preferred the ease of no-prep meals and finger food rather than full-fledged cookouts.
We were so interested in the art of gameday snacks that we took to social media and asked for your opinions as well. Here's what you, the people, had to say:
