
Fire Crews Work To Battle Flames Around Lubbock
It's been a windy and dusty day in Lubbock and for some it's been a day having to put out fires as they pop up across the area.
Small Grass Fires Pop Up Around Lubbock
According to a report from KAMC, there have been instances of grass fires on Tuesday due to high winds. Fortunately, all have been contained and were relatively small.
A grass fire was reported close to north Quaker Avenue just north of the Clovis Highway around 2 p.m. on Tuesday. First responders were able to put the fire out in short time according to the Lubbock County Sheriff's Department. Fire Fighters had stopped the spread by 2:25 p.m.
No injuries were reported in that incident.

Another grass fire was caused when winds knocked down a power line which sparked up a grass fire in the 8200 block of County Road 5860.
Strong winds are expected to continue thought 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
High winds are expected on Wednesday though as strong as they have been today.
