Super Bowl LVI is coming and all the excitement with it. At the same time, a huge wave of Covid 19 Omicron is hitting the United States. That is ok, people will ignore Omicron and have a great time at the Super Bowl, but there is one big problem. This year the Super Bowl is set to be in California at SoFi Stadium, one of the most restrictive Covid 19 states in the US.

A spokesperson from Governor Newsom’s office made a statement that was quoted by The Spun, “California is looking forward to hosting, and says the state is working with the NFL to have a safe and exciting event.” One big issue is that they do not state that they are removing any restrictions or allowing the Super Bowl to move forward unrestricted. Can we trust California?

Los Angeles, the area where the SoFi Stadium is located, has sidelined 800 police and firefighters according to their local channel three news. This means that there may not only be a problem with people gathering, but there may not be enough police and fire department workers to keep those that can attend, safe.

The NFL is already looking at moving Super Bowl LVI to AT&T Stadium in Arlington, home of the Dallas Cowboys. Clay Travis told Fox News that they need to make the move now so that they are not stuck with California’s restrictive laws. I agree. Dallas will need time to prepare for the event which is just about a month away on February 13th. Do not trust California, bring the Super Bowl to Texas where you can trust that every ticket sold will get a seat. Now the question is, can we trust the NFL to make the right choice?
