After another night of good rain, Lubbock and the surrounding areas could see another chance of severe storms and rain this afternoon and evening.

The National Weather Service in their latest Severe Weather Outlook has Lubbock with a slight risk of severe weather with max winds possibly between 60-70 mph, hail at about a quarter size. Tornadoes are unlikely to form during the day today.

Earlier in the morning on Monday, the National Weather Service predicted areas from Lubbock to the northeast had higher chances.

Rain chances along with severe weather chances will remain for a few days in Lubbock and the surrounding areas. According to KAMC, there is a chance of rain today through Thursday with highs in the mid to low 80's. Of course, forecast can and will change throughout the week. It's very possible we could see rain chances at or above 30% all the way through Sunday.

We need the rain and will take all we can get.
